FARMHOUSE AWARD WINNER - WELCOMHOST AWARD
Dyffryn is an upland hill farm where your hosts Dave and Sue Jones work hard but have plenty of time for guests...... perfect, far from the roads and noise (except for the animals) among lush low hills on the banks of the Nant Rhyd Rhoslan.
Dyffryn has luxury ensuite rooms - two doubles and a twin all of which can accommodate a third child if necessary. All rooms have colour televeision, tea and coffee making facilities and and tasteful decoration with exposed beams throughout.
To keep you going all day Sue serves scrumptious traditional breakfasts together with lots of interesting things for vegetarians and special diets. Optional evening meals using local welsh produce are served at 6.30 each evening.
Sue was runner-up in AA Landlady of the Year 1995 and both Dave and Sue try to ensure all guests get a warm welcome with lots of help and advice about local things to see and do.
Dyffryn is 5 miles from the market town of Newtown and 3 miles from Caersws - the nearest railway station.

Guests are welcome to walk the 200 acre farm through woods and along the stream where wildlife including herons, kingfishers, otters and badgers dwell.
Guests can take 3 walks from the door - information leaflets and packed lunches provided:-
Walking Tour to Llyn Mawr Nature Reserve (as featured on TV)
An easy walk of about 9 miles starting from Dyffryn OS Ref 052955 (Sheet 136). Go up the farm lane and turn left onto a minor road, right at telephone kiosk and continue for 0.5 mile past Alltyffynnon on right and continue to bungalow on right and turn right through gate after bungalow and water pumping station. Keep on track and bear left opposite Rhosypeggy, follow track through gates by sheep pens and over stream to top of the hill track where you must stop to enjoy the magnificent view of the Severn Valley. From the track bear to your left and follow the fence around to Lyn Tarw (a home for wild geese, gulls and moorhens); then bear south west across the fields to wander around Llyn Mawr an upland nature reserve - at the north end follow the road to the end and continue through the gate and along the farm track to the right and through 3 gates and back across the hill to Llyn Tarw. Keep on the ridge and follow posts marking bridle way eastwards to meet farm track - go straight down onto tarmac road and at the bottom of the hill bear right by grass triangle in road and this will take you back to Dyffryn.
Bed and Breakfast is from £23 per person per night
